Framed mosaic art inspired by zinnias in my own garden as they soak in the last days of warm sunshine for the season. I call this technique “painting with glass”, and it is created using the centuries-old method of cutting tiny pieces of Italian smalti glass with a hammer and hardie, and setting those pieces (tesserae) into wet mortar.
